First Aid & CPR Course
Course Overview
The First Aid & CPR course at Health Heroes Academy is designed to prepare students, caregivers, and community members to respond confidently and effectively in emergency situations. This training provides the knowledge and hands-on practice needed to save lives and stabilize patients until professional medical help arrives.
What You’ll Learn
CPR Training: Adult, child, and infant CPR techniques, including use of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED).
First Aid Basics: How to respond to common medical emergencies such as burns, cuts, sprains, fractures, and allergic reactions.
Choking Response: Step-by-step procedures for assisting choking adults, children, and infants.
Emergency Preparedness: How to stay calm, assess situations quickly, and provide safe, effective care.
Program Format
Duration: Typically completed in 1 day (4–6 hours).
Training Style: Blended Learning with In-Person Skills is 50% Self-Paced Online & 50% In-Person Skills Session with an Instructor.
In-Person Skills Sessions include discussion, practical application and skills testing.
Blended Learning Materials: AHA requires that each student completes the AHA online course prior to this Skills Session (available to purchase when registering).
Certification: Students receive a nationally recognized First Aid & CPR certification card, valid for 2 years.

This course is ideal for healthcare workers, caregivers, childcare providers, teachers, employers, and community members who want to be prepared for emergencies at work, home, or in the community, and students become healthcare heroes.
First Aid / CPR Training Admission Requirements
Must present a valid Driver’s License or State ID for enrollment and certification.
Must complete self-paced course and complete all required skills to receive certification in person.
Must pass a written exam and skills check-off with the instructor.
Certification is valid for 2 years and must be renewed before expiration.
Must provide own transportation to and from training location.

While we do not offer internal payment plans, students may be eligible for outside assistance:
Employer Sponsorship – Many healthcare employers will pay for staff certification.
